Amy Grant Plays First Show Since Bicycle Accident

Amy Grant has played her first concert since she was injured in a bike accident, resuming her Christmas tour with Michael W. Smith in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday.

Grant suffered cuts and bruises after she fell while cycling with a friend near the Harpeth Hills Golf Course in Nashville on July 27.

The 61-year-old “Baby Baby” singer was discharged after a brief hospitalization at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Doctors had ordered additional recovery time at home.

Grant postponed all her Fall tour dates to allow more time for recovery.

On Sunday, Grant addressed her fans regarding her return to the stage through social media.

“Thank you Memphis! After a season of healing at home, it was good to be back on stage with Michael W. Smith, Michael Tait and my musical family. Many thanks to @compassion , @parentingtodaysteens for your partnership on the road and for the important work you do in the U.S. and around the world. And thank you to @balsamhill for providing exquisite trees and decor to make our stage look so beautiful,” Grant wrote on Instagram.

She added, “Finally, Thank YOU for your many prayers over the last few months and as my healing continues. I hope to see some of your familiar faces in the audience over the next few weeks. Xo

Immediately after her Christmas tour with Smith concludes on December 9, Grant will embark on her annual “Christmas At The Ryman” residency with her husband, Vince Gill.
